Carey, who stands nearly 5'10 she was a popular American fashion model. Top designers including Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren loved her. Her father, a distinguished scientist, who was awarded the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists 1979 Scientist of the Year award is a highly respected scientist. Because of his work, Carey was raised all over the world. As she was attending the University of Colorado, Carey began to model on the side. An agent from Ford model agency located in New York noticed her and offered to help. She briefly spent time and studied in Paris before returning back to New York. Her modeling as well as her college career took off and she was featured on Vogue's, Glamour's, as well as many other covers of magazines. She was a full-time student at New York University, obtaining her major in Literature while working on modeling assignments. In New York she began to learn about acting. Her acting debut came through a tiny character in 'Club Pardise" in 1986, starring Robin Williams. In her spare time, she enjoys doing white-water rafting, skiing, rock climbing, and wind-surfing.
